We have recently fielded lots of calls from people who are concerned about repercussions of COVID-19 relative to their end-of-life planning. With death featured so prominently in the news, we can’t escape thoughts about what would occur if it happens to us. And after working in the funeral industry for more than 30 years, we can assure that, whether by the hand of Coronavirus or not, no matter who you are, you will eventually die. That might sound harsh. But everyone knows that none of us gets out of this alive. The best we can hope is make a mark while we are here. One way to make sure you take care of your family is with pre-planning.
What’s the Deal with Pre-Planning?
In the midst of a pandemic or not, pre-planning your funeral should be a natural part of life. Take time to make end-of-life decisions in a calm and rational atmosphere. Start the online planning process now. Or meet with one of our pre-planning advisors. Doing so just makes sense!

Pre-planning ensures that your loved ones understand your wishes. Since they’ll undoubtedly be grieved at your loss, knowing they can rely on the plans you made before you passed will give them peace of mind.
Pre-Planning Options
You can set plan to paper by simply recording your wishes and placing instructions with family members. Or, you could make a formal plan, kept on file with a mortuary like ours. Making the commitment to formalize a plan is easy because you won’t need to complete a questionnaire or submit to a physical exam. In fact, absolutely anyone and everyone who is alive is eligible! After we work with clients to structure a plan, we file it away. So, your family will rest easy in the knowledge they are following your wishes relative to your memorial and cremation/or burial.
To Pay or Not to Pay
Also, you don’t need to pre-pay for your plan. But that option exists, which guards against inflation. What’s more, by paying in advance, you will lighten the load for your loved ones. If you choose to pre-pay, you can pay all at once or take advantage of one of the convenient installment plans we offer.
Pre-Planning Payment Terms
When you choose to pre-fund final arrangements, we put your money into a state-approved trust account or top-rated insurance company for safekeeping. After your pre-plan is paid in full, the price is guaranteed. You will never have to pay more for the items for which you have already paid. Another important consideration. At Foothill Funeral, when you pre-plan, your plan will go wherever you go – no matter where you reside at the time of your passing. This means that your plan will be transferable to any funeral home in the United States. So, potential relocation is not an issue
